Philippians 4

As with the previous reference to Joy in Philippians 2 this chapter also refers to the joy Paul feels at the faith of the people of Philippi.

It is an important reminder, that we should rejoice in the love for Jesus that others express and demonstrate.

Being followers of Jesus is not about finding fault with fellow believers, or arguing points of doctrine with them. It is about feeling joy at the faith they have in God. At the journey God has placed them on.

The people of the world would have a greater respect for God if those who profess to follow Him showed love and joy in each other, instead of division.

If we prayed more, instead of finding fault with the world.

If we demonstrated God’s love more instead of harsh judgements.

If we loved and rejoiced in each other’s faith.

If we did all these things then God would not be brought into disrepute and disrespected as He is in these modern times.

Seek to be Jesus in all you do. 

Seek to speak with the love of Jesus.

Seek to be His hands of love to others.

Seek to look on others with His eyes, seeing them as He sees them.

Seek to serve others in love, not as a doormat, but as Jesus served people. 

Seek to be Jesus light in this world.

And seek to love your fellow believers as Jesus loves you.
